This session on focused ultrasound techniques will cover both high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) and histotripsy. The HIFU section will focus on mechanism of action, emerging technologies, and then techniques and results in various organs including prostate, pancreas, liver, fibroids, thyroid, musculoskeletal, pain, and pediatric applications. Histotripsy is an emerging focused ultrasound technology based on cavitation, and the session will focus on mechanism of action, clinical trial results, image-based targeting, and immune-oncology applications.
