The SIR stroke course is a one and a half day course presented by a multidisciplinary faculty consisting of Interventional and Neurointerventional Radiologists, Neurologists and Neurosurgeons who regularly treat patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). The course consists of a review of acute ischemic stroke pathophysiology with discussions on medical and endovascular treatment of AIS as well as updates on research published since the 2019 AHA AIS guidelines providing 9 hours of AMA category 1 Stroke CME. The course combines didactic lectures and case presentations with hands on workshops in which attendees have the opportunity to become more familiar with mechanical thrombectomy thru the use of flow models and simulators.
