Description of the session
The management of complicated fluid collections including hematomas, abscesses with fistulas and pancreatic necrosis is very complex and difficult. IR can play a very important role, not only by placing and exchanging drains, but also by removing the material and closing the fistulas using different tools via the percutaneous approach. Many of the complex approaches require multiple procedures and close coordination with advanced endoscopy and surgery. This session will provide attendees with a review of tools, methods, and treatment options for patients with complex fluid collections, pancreatic necrosis, and enterocutaneous fistulas that do not respond to traditional drainage methods.
