Dr. Joyce Pittman is an Associate Professor at the University of South Alabama with a research focus on pressure injuries, ostomy-related complications, and evidence-based practice. She also has a joint position with the University of South Alabama Health- University Hospital serving as a Nurse Scientist supporting, pressure injury prevention, and wound/ostomy and nursing practice. Dr. Pittman is a certified Wound, Ostomy, and Continence (WOC) nurse, Adult and Family Nurse Practitioner, and nurse researcher and is on the board of directors of the National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel (NPIAP). Dr. Pittman has published numerous journal articles and book chapters and is an expert consultant regarding complex wound and ostomy management.
