Stacey Schutte, is an Assistant Professor in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. Her PhD is in Bioengineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Emory University in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics and spend time as research faculty with Shriners Hospitals for Children - Cincinnati. Her laboratory at UC focuses on mechanobiology and tissue engineering to model disease states and study wound healing. One of her current focuses is on developing an innervated skin model to study innervation and nerve function, particularly in the areas of chronic pain and chronic itch. Her laboratory is also interested in endocrinology and women's health, using a pregnancy mimetic model to study elastin synthesis for tissue engineering and wound healing applications.
