Innovation Theater Breakfast (non-CME): Clinical Research Overview of EscharEx: An Innovative Enzymatic Solution for the Debridement of Hard To Heal Wounds

In this session you will learn about the importance of debridement and learn about the clinical experience with EscharEx, a novel investigational biological therapeutic containing a complex mixture of proteolytic enzymes enriched in Bromelain. EscharEx is under development for debridement of chronic and hard to heal wounds. Its mechanism of action is mediated by the proteolytic enzymes that cleave and remove the necrotic tissue and prepare the wound bed for healing. The efficacy and safety data available to date from three phase 2 clinical studies in patients with VLU, DFU and post trauma hard to heal wounds will be presented, along with case series from clinical studies demonstrating EscharEx fast and effective debriding activity accompanied with reduction in biofilm and bacterial load.
