Total Contact Casts and knee-high irremovable offloading devices are considered the gold standard for offloading DFU’s. However, the gold standard is rarely utilized in clinical practice. Whether its patient intolerance or other mitigating factors, success is likely to be maximized by maintaining a mind-set of treating individual patients with DFUs as opposed to simply treating DFUs. This session will explore the current trends and practical applications of offloading DFU’s as they relate to each patient and their unique differences.
