Megan Heffernan, MPH, is a Senior Research Scientist at NORC at the University of Chicago. She has experience designing and implementing research studies focused on substance misuse, rural health, and public health systems and services, among other topics. She has contributed to the development of the Opioid Misuse Community Assessment tool and the Rural Recovery Ecosystem Index. She has also conducted a qualitative study to understand declining rates of drug overdose mortality in Eastern Kentucky. Heffernan’s MPH is from Boston University with a concentration in epidemiology and biostatistics.
