Sergeant
Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation
Michael Mandarano is a Sergeant in his 17th year of law enforcement with the Orange County Sheriff's Office. He is currently assigned to the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation (MBI), which targets mid- to upper-level drug trafficking organizations in the Central Florida area. Prior to his current assignment, Sergeant Mandarano was the supervisor of the Homicide Unit and, prior to that, the Robbery Unit. He has worked nearly seven years of his career in an undercover capacity and five years as a criminal detective and/or supervisor. Throughout his tenure, Sergeant Mandarano has utilized various investigative techniques to facilitate both short-term and long-term cases which commonly targeted violent individuals or drug traffickers. Of those methods, wiretaps, surreptitious camera installations, and forensic genealogy related to homicides, were the most unique and successful.
