Jolene DeFiore-Hyrmer, MPH, is the Chief Data Officer (CDO) at the Ohio Board of Pharmacy. As the CDO she provides leadership and oversight of the Ohio Automated RX Reporting System and data analytic projects. Previously, she served as the Bureau Chief of Health Improvement and Wellness at the Ohio Department of Health (ODH); where she oversaw multiple programs including Chronic Disease Prevention and Epidemiology, Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation, Office of Primary Care, State Office of Rural Health, and Violence and Injury Prevention and Surveillance. Ms. DeFiore-Hyrmer has served as the principal investigator of multiple grants including Ohio’s Overdose Data to Action funded through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. At the ODH she was responsible for the implementation of injury prevention projects, including expansion of community-based interventions, Project DAWN (Deaths Avoided With Naloxone), nonfatal and fatal drug overdose surveillance, and other initiatives focused on the prevention of injuries.
