Dr. Alana Vivolo-Kantor is a Senior Health Scientist and Team Lead for the Overdose Morbidity Team in the Epidemiology and Surveillance Branch in the Division of Overdose Prevention at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) working on the Enhanced State Opioid Overdose Surveillance (ESOOS) and the Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) cooperative agreements. She serves as a team lead overseeing all aspects of the ESOOS and OD2A emergency department and emergency medical services data sharing funded state health departments and manages the coordination and partnership with CDC’s NSSP/ESSENCE. Prior to coming to DUIP, Alana was a Behavioral Scientist in CDC’s Division of Violence Prevention in the Research and Evaluation Branch where she focused on measurement, surveillance, etiologic research, and program evaluation activities for youth violence, bullying, and teen dating violence.
