Drug Endangered Children Coordinator
Lawrence County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition
Lawrence, Tennessee
Miller was born in Denver, CO, then moving to Lawrence County, Tennessee, where she grew up and resides today. In 2004, shortly after graduation, Miller began a family in 2006. However, this marriage ended in 2009 due to issues stemming from her ex-husband’s substance use disorder. The experiences her family endured, raising a child with a parent with substance use disorder, and her childhood experiences with familial mental health disorders now fuels her passion for her work with drug endangered children and families.
Today, Miller serves as a Drug Endangered Children’s Coordinator for the South-Central Region. Her role is made possible through grants funded by the Tennessee’s Bureau of Investigation Alliance for Drug Endangered Children and housed out of the Lawrence County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition, one of the first seven piloted throughout the state. Miller’s role is to identify missing links throughout Lawrence County and Southern Middle Tennessee for children living in drug endangered situations. In this capacity, she has created and maintained multiple response teams and community partnerships, who also encounter and engage with DEC/LCSAP, to aid the children through a wide variety of projects.
Remarried in 2015, her blended family has opened their home and hearts to multiple children throughout the years, always fueled by knowing how substance use disorder effects more than just the person dealing with the disease. Miller is grateful for a community that shares her passion to make a difference in the lives of children.
