For nearly two decades, Sonji Adams has been a pillar of hope and guidance within the substance use treatment community in her hometown of Whitesburg, Kentucky. Mrs. Adams is dually licensed for clinical practice and alcohol and drug counseling, with experience in medication assisted treatment, behavioral health treatment, and adolescent substance use treatment. In her current role as Director of Behavioral Health Services at Mountain Comprehensive Health Corporation, Mrs. Adams oversees the integrated behavioral health program that spans nine primary care clinics and staffs nearly thirty behavioral health and psychiatry professionals. Mrs. Adams serves as a liaison to the local court system on behalf of those in substance use treatment and she is also a member of the Association of Science and Addiction Medicine. Mrs. Adams has been a member of HEAL since 2017.
