Kristin Porter is the Director of the Division of Reentry Services for the Kentucky Department of Corrections. A sixteen-year veteran of the Department, she has held many roles to include Correctional Officer, Probation and Parole Officer, Probation and Parole Assistant Supervisor and Program Administrator. Director Porter has proven to be an innovative thinker in the Department of Corrections and has received numerous awards during her tenure for spearheading projects such as the development of the FTO program and leading implementation of a new risk and needs assessment system. Porter is a graduate of the Departments Commissioner’s Executive Leadership Program, in which she serves annually as a mentor for future leaders. Porter received appointment as Director of the newly created Division of Reentry Services in February 2018 and has held the position since. The Division consists of 84 employees working towards removing reentry barriers for the justice-involved population in the institutions, jails and communities throughout the state. Director Porter received her Bachelors of Science in Justice Administration from the University of Louisville and strives to make the focus of her career to rehabilitate the Justice-Involved population.
