Sarah G. Johnson MSW, CSW, LCADC
Johnson’s has spent the last the last 17 years of her career working in various roles within the criminal justice system with individuals who have substance use disorders and mental health conditions.
She is committed to promoting rehabilitation and improving programs and services. On July 16, 2018 Johnson was appointed as the Director of Addiction Services for the Department of Corrections. This division is the largest provider of addiction treatment in Kentucky, providing evidence-based treatment, MAT, and recovery services to individuals who are either incarcerated or under community supervision. Johnson currently serves in this position.
Johnson is a member of various boards, professional organizations, and workgroups. She has coordinated and presented at training events nationwide.
Johnson has a master’s degree in social work with a mental health concentration from the University of Kentucky and a bachelor’s degree in social work from Morehead State University. She holds a license through the Kentucky Board of Social Work as a Certified Social Worker (CSW) and the Kentucky Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors as a Licensed Clinical Drug and Alcohol Counselor (LCADC).
