Sasha Mital, MPH, PhD is a Health Scientist for CDC’s Public Health and Public Safety Team in the Division of Overdose Prevention. There, she provides programmatic and epidemiological support to overdose prevention and response efforts at the intersection of public health and public safety. She holds a Doctorate in Behavioral Sciences Master in Public Health in Global Health from Emory University. Prior to this position, Sasha conducted research on trends use and access to medication assisted treatment among people who co-use prescription opioid and heroin co-use. She also spent 9 years in CDC’s Division of Global HIV/AIDS in providing technical assistance to HIV prevention programs for people who inject drugs.
