English Paper Piecing, an everlasting and popular technique, has roots tracing back to the 1770's and grew into a prolific and popular technique in the 1800s. As with all trends, EPP fell out of favor and returned to popularity throughout the past 120 years. EPP fully embraces a quintessential facet of quilt making - using up small scraps, recycling paper for templates, and creating an incremental project that could be worked on by a group or a single person. Today, we celebrate this established and popular technique with new designs and modern spins on traditional patterns. But, the history of a craft only enriches its contemporary presence. This lecture will explore the history of EPP and how it has grown into what we know today. NOTE: All lectures will take place in the Westin Peachtree Ballroom, approximately a 5-10 minute walk from the quilt show building.
