Rachel Clark is a contemporary folk artist who comes from a long line of sewers, beginning with her great-grandmother. She has been creating wearable art since 1973 and gravitates toward eclectic mixes of fabric and vibrant designs. She created a series of coats and jackets to celebrate her "Year of the Coat" -- but it seems Rachel's year of the coat has turned into Decades of the Coat! Rachel will share some of her most recent garments as well as several old favorites. While her garments and quilts can be whimsical, political, or personal statements, they always reflect her love of traditional quilt making. Share in the joy of wearable quilts in this fun lecture mixed with a fashion show! NOTE: All lectures will take place in the Westin Peachtree Ballroom, approximately a 5-10 minute walk from the quilt show building.
