Quilts to commemorate special days come in many styles. These quilts may celebrate a birthday, an anniversary, or any special day. This workshop will guide you through the research to make a quilt that depicts the colors of the sky at a particular location during a specified range of hours on a special day. To make a special day quilt, information on sources of historical information about weather, times of sunrise and sunset, and other factors will be explored. Multiple options for translating your findings into a quilt design will be discussed. Students will walk away with all the information to make their own quilt to commemorate a special day. This is a no-sew workshop.
