Desiring to make an improv quilt, but not quite ready to give up your ruler and control? Try semi-improv with Charles! In this workshop, students will mix and match modular subunits in different orientations and with different color value combinations to create variety and depth for a wall hanging or table runner, using a ruler in every step. Individual blocks will be constructed larger than required, then trimmed improv-style to create movement in the final project. Students will learn how to make different types of colors and prints work in this piecing style, as well as consider multiple layout options to optimize the final design. Sewing machines provided!
