Required Supplies: 1. Laptop computer with EQ8 (Electric Quilt 8) installed and activated* prior to class. This class is specific to EQ8 so you must have EQ8 installed, not EQ7 or another older version.
2. Power cord for the laptop
3. Pen and paper for notes
* To make sure your EQ8 is ready, please log onto the computer you will be using in class at least a week before you leave home. Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet and then open EQ8. This will validate your EQ license if you have not used this computer and/or EQ8 in a while. Activation happens behind the scenes when the computer is connected to the internet. It’s very important to do this before class as we will not have time in class to get EQ8 activated and working properly.
Optional Supplies: External mouse, mouse pad, and spare battery for mouse if mouse is wireless. Additional Supply Kit URL: https://meadowmistdesigns.blogspot.com/p/quiltcon.html

This workshop explores all of the fun new blocks that can be created using the Serendipity Function within Electric Quilt 8. The Serendipity function allows a user to magically create new blocks using flipping, mirroring, and other techniques. This is an intermediate EQ8 workshop and assumes that students have a basic understanding of EQ8 and can navigate the program on their own. This is a hands-on computer workshop and students must bring their own laptop computer, and power supply, with EQ8 already installed. Students should have strong tech literacy skills. This is a no-sew workshop.
