Required Supplies: Basic Sewing Kit with small scissors/snips, shared scissors will be provided but you may wish to bring your own to maximize class time. Fabric pens/pencils that will mark both light and dark fabrics, Pre-Printed panel from Spoonflower OR a solid piece of fabric OR a pieced mini quilt of your choice (solids or reads as solids preferred), 22" Square of Fabric for the batting 22" Square of batting (wool, cotton, or cotton/poly blend preferred), 2"x18" ruler with 1/8" grid, Three or more colors of 12 weight thread, Thimble that fits the middle finger of your dominant hand Hand Sewing/Quilting Needles in a variety of sizes Optional Supplies: Thread gloss or conditioner (strongly recommended)

Combine hand and machine quilting to achieve the distinctive design and texture of handwork in a fraction of the time. In this workshop, students will start by making a hand running stitch on a fabric panel that has been machine quilted. They then will go a step further by exploring embroidery stitches that are conducive to quilting. Students will incorporate a variety of thread colors and weights into their projects.
