Required Supplies: 1. Westalee Design Spacing Gauge 2. Fine Marking tool - Fons & Porter or Sewline - White Mechanical Pencil or Chaco chalk marker Optional Supplies: 1. Marking ruler - 12.5 inches x 3.5 inches – I use Creative Grids Quick Trim ruler CGRMT1
2. Quilting Gloves - Machingers quilting gloves to help grip acrylic rulers
3. GE Designs Ruler Stickers Prep Requirements: Preparation – Wash, starch and press all fabric. Make 12 practice quilt sandwiches to practice stitching designs. Baste with basting spray or use fusible batting. Pin basting will be problematic for ruler quilting.
1. Cotton fabric – Cut twelve – 12-inch x 10-inch pieces of solid, medium to dark fabric
2. Batting of choice – Cut twelve – 14-inch x 12-inches pieces of low/medium loft cotton batting
3. Muslin for backing – Cut twelve– 14-inch x 12-inches pieces

Students will learn acrylic ruler free-motion quilting techniques, how to use ruler reference lines, and the power of using one ruler to create many serpentine designs. Students will stitch several designs while learning handling and maneuvering techniques for rulerwork on a domestic sewing machine. Sewing machines provided!
