Required Supplies: 1 Fat Quarter of Main Exterior Fabric
1 Fat Quarter of Lining Fabric
Two 12" Squares of Foam Stabilizer (Soft and Stable or Bosal Single Side Fusible - Do not use Pelon Foam Stabilizer it is too thick)
30" of Pelon SF101 Interfacing (20" wide)
One 9" Handbag Zipper
One 7" Handbag Zipper
Marking Tool (Erasable/Water Soluble) Optional Supplies: Washable Glue (Sewline, Elmers) Wash Away Wonder Tape Prep Requirements: 1. Cut Pelon SF101 into two 10” squares and one 7.5” x 12” rectangle. 2. Cut the interior lining to two 10” squares and one 7.5” wide x 12” long rectangle. 3. Follow the interfacing instructions and fuse the interfacing to the wrong side of the interior fabric. The interfacing will be smaller than the lining, due your best to center it on the interior fabric. 4. *Optional* Baste outer fabric squares to corresponding 12” foam stabilizer squares. You can use any basting method you prefer. 5. *Optional* Quilt your piece. Use a smaller stitch length like the size you would use for piecing, because we will be cutting through the front during one zipper installation, the smaller stitch length will withstand this better. I used a stitch length of 2.0 on my Janome. Quilt as desired! Walking foot quilting, straight lines, grid, free motion quilting are all options. Check out my Instagram for examples of bags that I’ve quilted for this class! 6. Show up to class! Supply Kit URL: Check www.tina1802.com for supply kit listings. I will have optional kits that include zippers, foam stabilizer, and fabric marking tool.
