Leo Ransom is a master at using appliqué techniques and layering to create award-winning fabric portraits and beautiful landscapes. Hear about how Leo considers subject matter, creates patterns from photos, and reads fabrics as he selects them. He will also discuss challenges or problems that can create roadblocks as one works through a fabric portrait. Leo tells students, “You are the artist and will make the final decision for your piece. It is your work and will speak volumes about you.” Attendees will feel empowered to create after this lecture. NOTE: All lectures will take place in the Westin Peachtree Ballroom, approximately a 5-10 minute walk from the quilt show building.
