A dollmaker's needle (optional for one of the dimensional stitches)
Prep Requirements: In order to spend the most amount of our time learning dimensional embroidery techniques, it will help to prepare your pieces for collage ahead of time.
To do this, first decide on a background fabric for your hoop (it can be patterned or solid) and place it in your larger project hoop. Cut the fabric, leaving 2-3 inches of fabric around the outside of the hoop.
Next, decide on what motifs you want to use for applique. Cut them from the fabric.
Using the directions on the Heat n Bond Lite, iron these fabric pieces to the Heat n Bond. Once they have cooled, fussy cut the pieces.
Bring your background fabric, hoop and fussy cut pieces to class (along with the rest of the supplies on the list) and we will finish the collage and begin to add dimension to your project!
