Required Supplies: 1. Seven to eight ½ yard fabrics. In Block Play, you will have some areas of customization so having enough fabric to play with is important. Jessica encourages students to pick one color and pull from the lightest to darkest values for class. As an example, if you select blue, pull a lightest blue, light blue, light medium blue, medium blue, medium dark blue, dark blue and very dark blue. The Modern Quilt Guild’s Community Outreach Challenge color palettes this year are also a great option to use.
2. One yard background fabric. Select a neutral or a contrasting color from what you select in #1. You will likely not use the entire one yard of background fabric in class, but having enough available to use is important. The remainder can be used in how you choose to finish the project.
3. A small notebook and writing tool* (Alternatively, if you like to sketch digitally and want to sketch on your phone or other digital device you have with you, that is fine too.)
4. A fabric marking tool.
5. A dozen clips or pins.

Optional Supplies: 1. A calculator, or alternatively if your phone has a calculator and your phone will be with you, you’re all set.
