In this class, students will use Amy’s Gulls quilt pattern to learn to foundation paper piece with efficiency. Amy will teach her low waste technical approach to paper piecing and discuss its other benefits as well, as it relates to keeping the fabric on grain and prints directional. Students who are new to foundation paper piecing will pick this technique up quickly! Students who are well versed in FPP, might find this approach counterintuitive, but it will add a new skill to your FPP toolbox once mastered. Students will also discuss modern quilt design, particularly improv paper piecing and deconstruction. Sewing machines provided!
