Required Supplies: 1. Laptop computer with EQ8 (Electric Quilt 8) installed and activated* prior to class. This class is specific to EQ8 so you must have EQ8 installed, not EQ7 or another older version.
2. Power cord for the laptop
3. Pen and paper for notes
* To make sure your EQ8 is ready, please log onto the computer you will be using in class at least a week before you leave home. Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet and then open EQ8. This will validate your EQ license if you have not used this computer and/or EQ8 in a while. Activation happens behind the scenes when the computer is connected to the internet. It’s very important to do this before class as we will not have time in class to get EQ8 activated and working properly. Optional Supplies: External mouse, mouse pad, and spare battery for mouse if mouse is wireless. Additional Supply Kit URL: https://meadowmistdesigns.blogspot.com/p/quiltcon.html

In this workshop, new Electric Quilt 8 users will get acquainted with EQ8 – allowing them to leave the pencil and graph paper behind. Students will learn the basic functions and explore the versatility of EQ8. Cheryl will cover how to navigate the block and quilt worktables, use library blocks and fabrics, create unique blocks, and build a quilt top using different blocks. Students will learn about block settings, colors, fabrics, sashing, borders, and more. This is a hands-on computer workshop and students must bring their own laptop computer, and power supply, with EQ8 already installed. Students should have strong tech literacy skills. This is a no-sew workshop.
