English paper piecing isn’t a technique improv quilters typically use, but by adapting this technique, quilters can create visually stunning works of art that come together fairly easily. In this workshop, students will learn how to create organic designs using this modified approach to EPP. Carolina will discuss color principles and students will have fun exploring the use of color to produce a transparency effect. Students will leave the workshop knowing how to sketch a design, select fabrics to obtain a transparency effect, and mark and cut fabric so that a quilt can be pieced without difficulty. This modified approach to EPP is quite versatile, allowing one to produce an infinite number of beautiful quilt designs. This is a hand-sewing workshop.
