In this technique workshop, students will create a detailed portrait by layering fabrics on top of each other. With each layer of fabric, students will create more and more detail in their composition. Students can opt to start with something easy in order to learn the process and technique – or can dive right in and see where the technique takes them. Students will work with four to five different fabrics, beginning with the lightest fabric and working their way into the piece by using medium to darker fabrics. The more details they add, the more realistic the final piece will become. Sewing machines provided!
