Required Supplies: Several sheets of graph paper 8.5" x 11" or larger, 4 squares per inch. There are lots of different sized squares on graph paper. Please be sure you bring the right one.
A few pieces of plain paper--my preference is something with a little weight to it like thicker sketchbook paper or oaktag. (or see optional supplies)

Your collection of blocks that you want to use in your kitchen sink quilt. Optional Supplies: Scissors for cutting paper. Shared scissors will be provided but you may wish to bring your own to maximize your class time and experience.
Colored paper to be used rather than coloring on plain paper. Amy likes "Paint Chip" paper pads for scrapbooking that offer a number of solid colors in one pad. Prep Requirements: Premeasure your blocks and attach a piece of paper to each with the finished dimensions of the block (the dimensions minus the 1/4" seam allowance all around, for example, if you measure the block and it is 12 1/2" from raw edge to raw edge, it will be 12" finished.)
Do you have boxes of blocks from workshops that have never made it into quilts? Have you thought about making a kitchen sink quilt but felt intimidated by the layout and the math? In this class learn how to arrange blocks of different sizes and to organize and pull all the colors together? Students will bring their blocks to class along with simple tools like graph paper and pencils and leave with a quilt top layout plus all the background fabric labeled with cutting dimensions. This is a no-sew class, but having this plan in place will make assembling the quilt top a breeze once you get home to your sewing machine.
