Required Supplies: 1. Westalee Design Spacing Gauge 2. Fine Marking tool - Fons & Porter or Sewline - White Mechanical Pencil or Chaco chalk marker Optional Supplies: 1. Marking ruler - 12.5 inches x 3.5 inches – I use Creative Grids Quick Trim ruler CGRMT1
2. Quilting Gloves - Machingers quilting gloves to help grip acrylic rulers
Prep Requirements: Preparation – Wash, starch and press all fabric. Make 12 practice quilt sandwiches to practice stitching designs. Baste with basting spray or use fusible batting. Pin basting will be problematic for ruler quilting.
1. Cotton fabric – Cut twelve – 11-inch x 17-inch pieces of solid, medium to dark fabric
2. Batting of choice – Cut twelve – 13-inch x 19-inches pieces of low/medium loft cotton batting
3. Muslin for backing – Cut twelve– 13-inch x 19-inches pieces
OPTIONAL quilt panels available for purchase.
Preparation to quilt optional panels in class. Panels available in class
Preprinted Panel - Two 12 x 12-inch panels. If you would like to quilt panels in class bring:
1. Two - Low/medium loft cotton batting at least 14 x 14-inches
2. Two - Backing fabric at least 16 x 16 inches

In this workshop, students will learn intermediate ruler quilting design using one great shape! Design techniques will include options for modern edge-to-edge quilting, blocks, borders, sashing, and more and can be used on almost any project with other quilting rulers. Students will learn domestic machine ruler work quilting techniques, how to use ruler reference lines, and the power of using one ruler to create many designs. Students will practice stitching while learning proper ruler quilting handling and maneuvering with step-by-step instructions for 10 different designs. Sewing machines provided!
