Elizabeth Byrne, MD, MSc is a third-year resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Massachusetts General and Brigham and Women's Hospitals. She previously attended Harvard college and Harvard Medical School. She also has an MSc in Immunology from the University of Oxford and an MSc in Statistics, also from the University of Oxford, where she studied for two years as a Rhodes Scholar prior to medical school. Outside of her clinical responsibilities, she is interested in using translational science to improve vaginal health and pelvic floor function. She has particularly focused on the relationship between the vaginal microbiome, hormones, and vaginal inflammation.
