Camelia Malkami is a fourth-year medical student at the Medical College of Georgia. She is applying to Obstetrics and Gynecology residency programs this fall. Within the field of OBGYN, she is particularly interested in Urogynecology and MIGS. Her research has been focused on patient satisfaction with same-day discharge after urogynecologic surgery and analysis of urogynecology exposure in OBGYN residency. Prior to medical school, Camelia graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences and Neuroscience from The University of Chicago in 2019. At MCG, she helped start MCG Sexual Assault and Violence Education & Support (SAVES) and the Persian Student Association. Her previous research has been presented at AUGS/IUGA, ACOG District IV, and APHA. She currently sits on the communications committee for the Georgia OBGYN Society (GOGS), and is an abstract reviewer for the Society for Family Planning and APHA. She was also recently appointed to the AUGS Social Media Committee for 2024. In her free time, you can catch Camelia taking classes at her local Pure Barre, listening to podcasts/audiobooks, or brunching.
