Dr. Melnyk is a Urogynecologist at Cleveland Clinic. She trained at Magee-Womens Hospital, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center for her Urogynecology Fellowship and OBGYN Residency. She is the co-founder of OBGYNs For a Sustainable Future, a national cohort group for OBGYNs interested in decreasing the carbon footprint of care. She is the co-leader for the American Urogynecologic Society Health Care Sustainability Special Interest Group. She has published commentaries and original research on health care sustainability in numerous academic journals, and has presented at various national conferences. She implemented a Greening the Urogynecology OR initiative in fellowship, and won an award at a national conference, CleanMed 2022, for her efforts. In addition to reducing the carbon footprint of the urogynecology, she hopes to bring health care sustainability as an issue to the front and center of the greater OBGYN community.
