These session focuses on results of a pilot study of a novel urinary biomarker for bladder pain syndrome. Urinary sphingosine-1-phosphate is signaling molecule active in the bladder and involved in smooth muscle contraction. Urine from controls and subjects with BPS was collected and analyzed for S1P levels to determine feasibility for use as a biomarker.
