Many of us hear "scholarship" and think "research." However, the landscape of scholarship has changed and more areas of excellence and productivity are being recognized. In this roundtable, we will discuss avenues for scholarship beyond clinical research. We will discuss examples of promotion criteria that recognize other areas of expertise (eg. curricula development, programmatic work in equity, diversity, and inclusion, social media contributions, advocacy). Participants will be encouraged to discuss their own work and strategize how to turn that work into scholarship that is recognized and rewarded.
Learning Objectives:
Describe avenues for scholarship outside of research
Identify article types and publication platforms that allow for dissemination of the work you are already doing
Understand promotion criteria at your own institution
