The aftermath of trauma is a risk for post traumatic pain. Music has been shown to be a viable, effective, and accessible intervention for modulating trauma-influenced pain states. This presentation will include grounding theory and clinical applications that are inclusive of music, and are specifically relevant to trauma and medical treatment associated with pain. Participants will be provided with live experientials that can inform the relevance of music concepts which may be useful in practice.

Identify post traumatic stress' influence on pain progression
Define music's role in treating post traumatic pain
Demonstrate knowledge of common applications of music in assessing pain severity
