The field of regenerative medicine is rising like a Phoenix from the ashes of underperforming conventional therapies with high expectations of patients and medical personnel alike. The attendees will be able to hear evidence-based medicine regarding regenerative therapies, particularly the use of platelet-rich plasma and mesenchymal stem cells.
They will learn about the advantages and disadvantages of these "experimental" therapies, as referred to by insurance companies, as well as the precautions that need to be taken prior to these treatment modalities.
Regenerative seeks to recruit and enhance the body's own inherent healing armamentarium in the treatment of patient pathology. This therapy's intention is to assist in the repair and to potentially replace or restore damaged tissue through the use of autologous or allogenic biologics. This session will discuss evidence-based medicine data showing the effect of regenerative therapies for chronic pain and will discuss how much the use of new fancy techniques plays a psychological role in the effect of these treatment options in chronic pain patients.Learning Objectives:
