Examine school-based mental health services (SBMHS) and its impact on the community behavioral health care system through a recent white paper on the topic. Find out how SBMHS can be developed to build the infrastructure necessary for improved behavioral health care access, following guidance from national strategic initiatives that address behavioral health workforce capacity, tiered approaches to behavioral health care for families and improved evidence-based practice reach in communities. Participants will gain understanding of the research base for SBMHS and examine community-level partnerships that support a tiered approach to SBMHS. We examine how to improve access to evidence-based care for families and sustain workforce.
Describe at least three aims of a tiered approach to school-based mental health services that are important to consider in a community behavioral health system of care.

Demonstrate at least two examples of community level partnership strategies that support access to evidence-based treatments (specialized care) for youth and families.
