This interactive workshop equips faith leaders to minister to individuals in their congregations who are impacted by suicide. The presenters will lay out the rationale for Soul Shop and walk participants through the components of Soul Shop training, demonstrating that it can be a powerful tool to engage the Black community in the fight to end suicide.

Learning Objectives:

Discuss statistics on the impact of suicide in the Black community and the nuances of race and ethnicity in suicide prevention.
Explore and define the role the faith-based community can play in the fight against suicide.
Demonstrate the use of Soul Shop for Black Churches as a resource to combat stigma and engage the faith-based community in suicide prevention.
Discuss tips on how to build partnerships with the faith based community in suicide prevention and awareness.
