Jami Dellifield is an Extension Educator, Family and Consumer Sciences, at Ohio State University, Hardin County. She has been employed as an Extension Educator since October 5, 2015. Her passion is helping people to be the best that they can be. Jami holds a BA in Psychology (minor: Communications) and a MA in Christian Education (specialization: Youth Ministry). She has been a member of the Ohio JCEP/ESP chapter and NEAFCS since 2016.
She was the Ohio NEAFCS president in 2020. She has also served as the Co-Chair for the national NEAFCS Professional Development committee in 2017 and 2018. She is the 2022 Ohio JCEP President-elect.
She was the 2021 Inaugural recipient of the Ohio Farm Bureau Y Prize. She is a 2018 eXtension Foundation Behavioral Health Co-Fellow. She was a member of the NCRCRD (North Central Regional Center for Rural Development) pilot program for CAPE training and one of the instructors for the Ohio CAPE project. Jami is a certified Mental Health First Aid® and Youth Mental Health First Aid® Instructor. Jami was a member of the ECOP Opioid Work Group that convened in 2018. Jami became a Trauma Informed Approaches Instructor in 2018 and has brought that training to Ohio State University Extension for fellow Extension professionals. She is also a member of the Ohio Youth Resilience Collaborative.
She has presented at the local, state, and national levels. She and Ohio 4-H Educator, Amanda Raines, co-authored the 4-H project books, Your Feelings Matter (published in 2022) and Your Thoughts Matter: Navigating Your Mental Health (published in 2018). In 2016, she began a county-wide group for pre-teen females to help address mental health, self-esteem, and building friendships. Jami is also a trainer for Real Colors ® and Trauma Informed Care Approaches. She is a team member for multiple SAMHSA and USDA grants focused on mental health, and has served as co-PI for many of these grants.
Jami has received multiple awards at the local, state, and national level, including the following 1st place National ESP awards (North Central Region) in 2019: Visionary Leadership, Distinguished Team, and Communications.
Her specialty areas at Ohio State are “Healthy Relationships” and “Healthy People”. She has been the Co-Leader for the Healthy Relationships Team. She is a 2017 graduate of NELD (National Extension Leadership Development North Central).
