Marcia Gonzalez Monroe is currently a community liaison for Chrysalis Health. Possessing over 30-plus years of experience, she is recognized as one of the national experts in co-occurring disorders. Her experience covers high-level administrative and direct care services in hospital inpatient and community mental health settings and as manager for two behavioral health companies servicing national accounts. She operates a private practice specializing in felon evaluations for involuntary placement and is frequently called to testify in court as an expert witness. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, she received her master’s degree in social work from the University of Houston and master’s in business administration from NOVA University and is a graduate of Leadership Hillsborough. She is a frequently called upon team member and presenter at the international co-occurring conference led by Drs. Christie Kline and Ken Minkoff. Since 2012 she has served on the Florida School of Addictions board of directors. She recently co-authored an article for the Journal of Dual Diagnosis and is working on an article on Access to Recovery for publication. In 2015 she was recognized as the top mental health professional at NatCon15 and used her $10,000 award from Eli Lily to establish the Arturo Gonzalez and Marcia Gonzalez Monroe Scholarship for young professionals to attend the 2016 conference. She, along with co-presenter Doris Nardelli, is frequently called upon to present at professional conferences. Their evaluations place them in the top tier of informative and engaging presenters.
