Many clinicians and peer support specialists believe peer providers don't belong in crisis services. We’ll demonstrate what is needed for peer supporters to work within facility-based crisis services, crisis mobile teams, crisis lines and warm lines. This is a model for building an effective facility-based crisis service team, developed through on-the-ground observation and hands-on work with peer supporters in high utilization, no wrong door, mental health and substance use emergency services. Learning Objectives:

Name and implement two models that support and improve teamwork in emergency centers for mental health care.
Analyze risks and value, as well as specific uses for peer support workers on integrated crisis teams working in emergency centers for mental health care.
Identify three misconceptions commonly seen regarding peer supporters working on integrated team in no wrong door emergency centers (crisis centers) for mental health care.
