Many clinicians and peer support specialists believe peer providers don't belong in crisis services. We’ll demonstrate what is needed for peer supporters to work within facility-based crisis services, crisis mobile teams, crisis lines and warm lines. This is a model for building an effective facility-based crisis service team, developed through on-the-ground observation and hands-on work with peer supporters in high utilization, no wrong door, mental health and substance use emergency services. Name and implement two models that support and improve teamwork in emergency centers for mental health care.
