The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated changes in substance use/co-occurring treatment and treatment providers and outpatient treatment agencies have had to adapt. The problem for many agencies is how to adjust to these changes and determine the most effective way to evolve in a positive direction. Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC) are an effective tool to respond to the changing needs of clients with substance use disorder (SUD). We will address how CCBHC's effectively address SUD and co-occurring disorders using evidence based strategies, increasing integration and utilizing harm reduction and a public health approach.
Learning Objectives:
Define six ways integrated SUD care for can improve health outcomes, decrease barriers to care, save money and help teams work more effectively to help clients with complex needs.
Analyze the practical application and implementation of at least four effective evidence-based treatment strategies essential to a SUD treatment in an outpatient integrated treatment setting.
Define at least five concrete examples of strategies to implement harm reduction and effectively provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) in an outpatient integrated care settings such as CCBHCs.
