MP15 - Translating Trauma-informed Care into Practice

The Mayerson Center for Safe and Healthy Children, a child advocacy center within Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, aligned efforts with larger hospital initiatives to create an optimal healing environment through the application of trauma-informed principles adapted from SAMHSA. Utilizing and adapting the National Council's Trauma-informed Care Framework, the Mayerson Center systematically changed the culture to create a trauma-informed center and provide tools to divisions throughout the hospital to implement trauma-informed care (TIC). In this session attendees learn how our division utilized the broader TIC framework and created a defined process to elicit feedback from staff and achieve attainable goals.
