MP49 - Addressing Trauma in the Classroom through Skill-based Training for Educators

The trauma-informed educator training series is an online program for K-12 educators developed by the Mayerson Center for Safe and Healthy Children at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and McKinsey Health Institute. Best practices for district-wide implementation of the training were identified by testing different group-implementation approaches with four school districts and over 500 learners. The findings of these pilots can benefit mental health organizations working in education or childcare settings to improve educators’ and childcare providers’ abilities to utilize trauma-informed practices.
