MP41 - Building Partnerships Between Crisis Lines and Mobile Crisis Response Teams

Promotion of 988 has brought a significant increase in recognition of crisis lines. As utilization increases, partnerships with community-based crisis services, such as mobile crisis response teams, will be crucial to establish a robust, coordinated crisis response system. We will share the experiences of a New York City-based call center that serves as the single point of access for 24 different mobile crisis teams and highlight the benefits this kind of partnership can have for consumers/providers, identify approaches to the differing needs of referents (family/friends, providers) and examine how they can reduce law enforcement responses to mental health crises.
