The Kentucky River District Harm Reduction Program has grown to become one of the most successful in the state of Kentucky. In response Kentucky River District has opened The Hub, a one-stop shop that co-locates multiple agencies and disciplines to offer a variety of interventions to patients with substance use disorder (SUD), which is already demonstrating great success. We will focus on recovery and resources to meet SUD clients where they are, but not leave them there, and successes and lessons learned.
Learning Objectives:
Identify three barriers to providing harm reduction services in a conservative community and strategies to address each of these barriers.
Identify the key components of a harm reduction program and the benefits of co-locating these services all in one location.
Learn three strategies to build community collaboratives to address problems of concern in your community and how to implement them to build stronger programs.
